It's been a while...

A lot has happened since my last post-which is why it's taken me so long to get this one out!  We left off in early May so here are some pics from the baby dedication at church.  What a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day!
Sadly, preschool came to an end.  =( Here's a few pics of the kids on their last days.  Can't believe Caleb will be a kindergartener!!
Check out my babies at the beginning of the school year!!! My, how they've grown!!  Zoey went from a baby to a little girl.
I love these end of the year pictures you get back.  Caleb's drawing of himself and spelling his name at the beginning of the year and now.  Amazing!  He went from being just a hairy head to a boy with arms, legs and even knees!
You may have to click on these pics to read his responses.  They are priceless!
After school ended we went on vacation with my parents to their timeshare in Orlando.  Much needed fun!
Zoey loved this rollercoaster simulator and, of course, snuggling with Daddy!
What a beauty!!  Wish I could bottle this joy!
Every morning Zoey ate breakfast with her Papa on the patio.  I feel SO blessed my kids are so bonded to my parents.
The kids got to play putt putt for the first time.  Loved it!!
Got to have fun with Michael, Leanne and Nolan, too!
The next big event was Cameron's high school graduation!!!  He looks so handsome.  He already has his an apartment in Tampa and started classes at USF in early July.  So stinkin proud of  him.
So I guess this is where I'll fill you in on Cruz.  I last left off that he was going to have an endoscopy in late May to see if he had any problems with his esophagus.  Well, it turns out he has something called eosinophillic esophagitis (EOE).  It's basically an overproduction of white blood cells that cause his esophagus to feel almost like it has eczema-it can get swollen, itchy and feel like he has food stuck in it.  It was a bit of relief to know there was a cause to why he wasn't eating.  We have been on medication for 5 weeks and will  have another scope in 2 weeks to see if the meds worked.  If they didn't we will have to try other medication and repeat.  In the meantime, we also have to figure out why there is an overproduction of these white blood cells-usually caused by an allergy.  I went to see an allergist and had him tested.  We already knew he had a severe allergy to dairy and now we can add eggs to that list as well.  I'm now the not-so-proud owner of an epi pen that I must carry everywhere he goes.  =(  If his next scope still shows the EOE, we will have to go back to the allergist and have more testing done.  While all of this was happening we were able to get into feeding therapy!  Yay! We go twice a week for an hour each time.  I've seen a big difference already.  He doesn't fight me anymore to get into the highchair and he will happily eat a container of food.  Keep in mind, he is still only eating 3 flavors of pureed food and breastfeeding.  He is getting more interested in table food-especially when he sees the other kids snacking.  It's getting to be a challenge to find dairy free things for him to try.  He doesn't swallow anything but he likes to suck on pretzels until they fall apart then spits them out.  It's been an interesting road so far-I haven't gotten into all the road blocks I've come up against.  There's days I feel like he's making good progress and then I realize how far we have to go and it can be daunting.  It's been hard evening finding the right doctor's who understand my plight.  I'm doing everything in my power to prevent him from having a feeding tube.  It's a lot to keep track of on a daily basis and some days I feel like I'm losing my mind.  On top of all of this I got pneumonia, then a few weeks later kidney stones and infection.  No wonder, really, as I don't make taking care of me a priority. Just taking things one day at a time is all I can really handle.
By the way, I'm proud to say Cruz started walking at 13 months.  Thank goodness he's still a sweet, happy boy!  This pic was taken the morning he had his scope.  Smiling even then. Ah!
In all this craziness, I was blessed to get to stay at a friend's condo on Belleair Beach for a week.  I took these pics with  my phone.  Unreal, right?!?
Cruz is a total beach boy!!
Jameson and Cybil got to stay with us for a few days.  It was so nice.  Sadly, they moved to Chicago the next week.  We miss our dear friends already.  It was the perfect way to spend time before they left.
Have I ever said what a daddy's boy Cruz is?  He is beyond crazy for his dad. Just look at his face in this pic!
My dear, dear friend Teresa and her daughter, Isabel, came all the way from Louisiana to visit.  We've known each other for over 30 (shoot, almost 40 years!!).  There's is something to be said about friends like that.  With as stressed as I've been, her visit was the best medicine!
My parents have really helped out so much by watching the kids so I can go to all these appointments. My mom is truly my angel.  There is no Hallmark card out there to convey my gratitude for all she does for me and my family.  She demonstrates daily that there is nothing like the love of a mother.
Just wanted to show off some handsome pics of Cam.  =)
 My little comedian...
and his trusty sidekick.
