7 months

7 Months
Cruz...
Zoey...
and Caleb.  :)

Cruz is doing so much!  He is eating solid foods now.  Here are pics of his first time. I remember all of my kids liking it the first time and then not liking solids for awhile.  Not Cruz. He loves eating!!  He army crawls everywhere.  Turn your head for a minute and he's down the hall or under the kitchen table.  He can rock on his hands and knees and has taken a few actual crawls but prefers to do the "wounded soldier" for now.
Love this pics of my Mama.  She helps me so much.  Don't know what I'd do without her!
Here are the kid's school pics.
Couldn't believe they were able to get this shot of her!  She usually shuts it down when there's a camera around.

Sadly, soccer season is over until March.  Wish there was a winter league.  He sure loves playing and I sure love watching him.  This was his last game where he scored 6 goals!  Go, Caleb!!
Cameron's mom gave Caleb 5 of Cam's old soccer jersey's.  Oh my goodness, Caleb was in heaven!!  Thanks, Jen!
Is this some serious bed-head or what?
My sleeping beauty.
Cruz loves to swing.
And of course, he loves his biggest bro.  :)
This kid is so dang happy.  How lucky am I?!
Hmm..is this a curl I see?

Let's talk about Caleb for a minute.  These pics really do reflect my little man.  I know a lot of kids develop imaginary friends...not Caleb.  He has an imaginary grandma-Grandma Jean to be precise.  He acquired this Grandma right around the time school started.  I was thinking it was bc he doesn't have a "Grandma", only my mom, whom he calls Nana.  Maybe it was to fit in with the other kids at school? Anyway, he is a hoot with the stories he makes up about Grandma Jean.  Very randomly he will say, "The other day my Grandma Jean said..."  I love to ask him questions about her.  According to Caleb, she lives in Clearwater and has green hair.  There is no Grandpa.  On Thanksgiving, I thought it would be interesting if he came face to face with his delusion so I said, "Hey Caleb, Grandma Jean is coming over for Thanksgiving!" He looked worried for a minute and then said, "No, she can't come...she has to work."  So quick witted, this one.
Caleb is growing up so fast.  Getting so tall and learning so much at school.  He loves to play a game where I name a word and he has to guess either the beginning or ending sound.  He also likes to make up patterns and have me guess what the next item is.  He'll say, "Mom- triangle, square, circle, triangle...what comes next?" He loves working with numbers-there's some great math games on the iPad.
Then there's Zoeygirl. The girl can definitely give attitude.  When we have other kids over to play, she likes to play by herself for the most part.  Her BFF is def Caleb, though.  She loves playing with him. I love the conversations I hear between them..."Zoey, smell my finger!" "Caleb, that's disgusting!" "Hey, Zoey, check out what just came out of my nose!" Oh, boys are so much fun. :) She loves to dress up and if you can't tell, loves SHOES!! The purple glitter shoes are her fave.  She would wear them every day if I would let her.
Move over, boys, the girl's got some moves of her own!
Cruz loves to play with the other kids.
Sadly, Byron's dad passed away on Sunday, December 2nd.  He was 80 years old.  At the time he was living in Sarasota in a rehab facility after suffering from kidney failure and needing dialysis among numerous other things.  Prior to moving to Sarasota 7 months ago, Byron took care of his dad since his mom died 4 years ago.  I cannot tell you how proud I am of my husband.  He loved his dad so much and took care of him in ways I never expected.  More importantly, he demonstrated this love to all of the kids, bringing his dad over to shower, groom and dress him.  Caleb loved getting in on the action, helping to shave Grandpa and clip his nails. Don't know if I ever would've gotten to know his dad so well if Byron's mom hadn't passed.  I really treasure all the time I got to spend with him. Such a humble, loving, giving man with nothing but gratitude.  As Byron said at the funeral, even when his dad was in bad shape these last few months, he would say he was in a win/win situation: either he would get better or he'd die and go to heaven.  Win/win.  The day before he died Byron went to see him and called me when he got there.  All I could hear was his dad calling out for Jesus and thanking God.  It was as if he was telling God, "I've had enough..time to go."  And go he did.  Charles Pompey, you are loved and missed greatly.
Zoey can be so shy around people but man, when her Grandpa Charles was here she always lit up and would shower him with kisses.  She had a special bond with him.
