Happy Birthday!!

I cannot believe we just celebrated Caleb's first birthday!! We had so much fun, we had two parties!

If it were up to Caleb, he wouldn't have touched the cake much. But given the fact that Byron is his father, this is what he ended up looking like.

He is just adorable!

I thought I'd let you take a look back on this past year and see how much our little man has grown. It really is amazing!

Caleb is now 23lbs and 31 inches long. He lost a little weight, but with all the running around he does it's no wonder. My little Buddha is losing his belly. He sure is an active one! Keeps me on my toes. Caleb's vocabulary continues to grow! He can say: mama, dada, nana, ball, bird, boat, book, nose, up, down, no-no, moo-cow, knee, go, dog, dirty, and the most important word...goal. I think one of my favorite things he does now is he will select a book, bring it to you, climb into your lap and say "book". He loves to be read to! He can find his nose and ears, hold his bottle, and even fake a sneeze.  Too cute!  He is a professional walker and has advanced to running.  He can follow simple directions like, bring me the ball.  He gives kisses, which I adore.  When I'm feeding him finger foods, he is thoughtful enough to feed me, too.  Aww!  God bless him, he is even sleeping through the night...finally!

Don't let this angelic face fool you!  I got my first child-induced injury...a broken nose!  While sitting on top of me he decided to throw the baby monitor he'd been holding right at my face.  Ouch! Luckily, it was just fractured and not a bad break.  You can't even tell, but it does hurt like heck.  He is also learning to hone is tantrum skills.  I thought he wasn't supposed to do that til he's 2?  He's so advanced.  :P

Caleb loves to point at things.  In this picture he was telling my parent's dog, Roxy, "no, no, no".  Loves to scold her when she barks.  He's finally able to tell something smaller than him what to do.

Caleb has a Little Tikes castle with a slide at Nana & Papa's.  Oh, how he loves to go down the slide head first and jump off the stairs.

Did I mention he can open doors now?  Oh, boy!

He is mesmerized by the Great Uncle Jeff! (as is Roxy apparently)

I swear this wasn't planned.  Came for a visit and Papa and Caleb were dressed alike.
Has God blessed me, or what?!?!  I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world that God picked me to be Caleb's mom.

11 Months!!

Our little man at 11 months! Wow! Less than an month now until his first birthday. I can't believe it. I am truly amazed at how much he has grown and learned in one year! Caleb continues to be a very happy boy. He sings, waves and loves to talk. He has added the words up, down (we go in an elevator at my parents building a lot), ta-da!, and my favorite, moo-cow, his first 2 word phrase. It comes out as Moo-ow which makes it even cuter. He likes to say no-no-no when he's doing something he shouldn't be doing. He'll say it before I do! Doesn't stop him from doing it, though. Just when I thought he didn't grasp the meaning of the word no, he told me no for the first time and he meant it. I was trying to give him medicine and he grabbed my hand, looked at me and said "no-no-no". I was quite proud of him for understanding and using the phrase appropriately, but frustrated he didn't take his medicine. :P

He looks like such a big boy!
I love this picture! He was having fun with Daddy and Grandpa Charles.
Caleb continues to love the water. We go to the pool or the beach whenever we get the chance. In this picture his cousin, Nolan, is in the background.

He looks like such the Bohemian baby in this one, don't you think? His curls are getting so long. He usually gets one or two long ribbons of curls in the front. I'm SO jealous!

Showing off his teeth here. He's got 6 teeth now-4 up top and 2 on the bottom. This has been a big teething month. I'm still sleep deprived.

He's already driving! He likes to motor around the house on his car. He gets such a kick out of himself that he'll give himself a round of applause. Adorable!

This one kills me! Caleb likes to push our neighbor, Griffin, around the house. Griffin is 62 lbs!!!

Mommy's little helper.

This is Caleb's favorite thing to do at Nana and Papa's. They have doggie steps so their little dog, Roxy, can get on the sofa. Caleb apparently thinks they are for him. He loves to climb them (with no assistance) and jump off onto pillows.

My little daredevil.

I saved the best for last. Caleb is walking!!!! He took his first steps at Grandpa Charles house a few weeks ago. Then, 6 days later, Caleb decided he had this walking thing down and started taking walks on his own. He tends to walk like frankenstein-arms straight out, but he's walking all over the place. Our next post will be for his first birthday!!!!!
